Halloween Jack-O-Lantern carving contest

During our "Discover" courses, au pairs take a class about US holidays & rituals. What better way to apply what you're learning than to participate in the American tradition of pumpkin carving?

We are hosting a Jack-O-Lantern Pumpkin Carving Contest now through November 3. Carve a pumpkin with your host kids and send us a picture of your masterpiece! Send us a message through our Facebook page or our Instagram with your picture before November 3 at 11:59 PM.

We'll choose one first place winner to win a $25 Amazon gift card, a second place winner to win a $10 Amazon gift card, and a third place winner who will receive some Halloween goodies & APW swag! We'll be judging the entries on creativity and quality of carving.

Never carved a pumpkin before? Need some ideas? Check out Pinterest for some great ideas, or get some inspiration from the pictures below!

You can find some templates and stencils for carving at the links below. To use these templates, print them out and tape them on your pumpkin. Use pumpkin carving tools to mark your pumpkin along the lines, then remove the paper and follow the marks you made to carve your design.
