A Different Way of Looking at New Year's Resolutions

“I hope you will have a wonderful year, that you’ll dream dangerously and outrageously, that you’ll make something that didn’t exist before you made it, that you will be loved and that you will be liked, and that you will have people to love and to like in return." -Neil Gaiman

The prospect of a brand new year is always exciting! With 2021 on the horizon, most of us are looking forward to a new year even more than usual as we hope to put the difficulties of 2020 behind us and wish for a return to normalcy. However, the dawning of a new year may also be a reminder of the goals we set...but did not accomplish during the previous year. Many people cringe at the phrase “new year’s resolutions” because they are so used to forgetting their resolutions by the time February rolls around!

What if instead of creating a huge list of goals for 2021, we tried something a little more manageable?

We believe that goal setting can be a powerful tool, but it shouldn’t feel overwhelming. This year, we’re challenging you to take our 3-2-1 Challenge! Instead of writing out a long list of resolutions, we want you to reflect on things that went well during 2020 and a few things you’re looking forward to accomplishing or becoming in 2021. We’ve included a list below of some simple reflections for the past year and some manageable goal setting prompts for 2021. You can take a moment to write out answers to all of the categories or just the ones that inspire you the most. As part of the challenge, we encourage you to use our pre-made Instagram or Facebook story templates and share them on social media with your 2020 reflections and your 2021 goals!
